This brass cuff was created using chasing and repousse techniques.  It depicts Pictish warriors hunting beast.  It is 3 inches in the center and can be adjusted to fit.

The Pict are an ancient Celtic people that inhabited mid and highlands of Scotland.  They painted their bodies, going naked, when fighting an enemy.  Ancient Romans were never able to defeat or control them and built a wall, Hadrian's Wall,  to keep them out of the rest of Britian.  The Latin word Picti first occurs in a text written by Eumenius in AD 297 meaning 'painted or tattooed people'.
